Alan Tudyk (Wash) and Morena Baccarin (Inara) are both in the new ABC sci-fi show V! So if you missed them being all cool and space-y and stuff now you can see it again. Tudyk plays some human dude and Baccarin plays the leader of the visitors. Exciting stuff, people! You can watch the pilot on Hulu and probably ABC's website. |

Exploring!
Today miome, Miome's parents, and I all took the Metro into DC proper to go to the Smithsonian (or more accurately, the American History museum). Of course we would pick the one weekend they're doing track maintenance on the blue line. Sigh. But we went, enjoyed ourselves, and got back. So that is a win. Otherwise, I'm still slowly unpacking things. My cats are thrilled because one of the things I unpacked was the cat bed. Happy kitties are happy. They also think that the boxes are the best cat toys ever, right behind string and paper bags. Kitties. I'm hoping that once I get into a more stable routine, I'll start really writing again. I know people have been agitating for me to finish the Witch King stories and I'd at least like to get the next part done before seriously writing another set in that universe. At least I'm beginning to have time to read again. ^^ Current Mood: tired |

1 out of three's not bad, right?
Today, I was supposed to (a) go buy rocks, (b) find a white shell, since all of mine are now stained/damaged, and (c) do some yardwork. The rock place was closed, the entire mall only had one store w/ the camisoles I wanted, and they weren't in my size, but I got the lawn mowed. (nothing planted, which was supposed to be included in the yardwork, but I wasn't expecting (b) to be such a difficult process. :P Regardless, the lawn looks a little less scruffy, and I'm going to rake tomorrow morning, assuming I get up in time. Also, I got dirt, which counts as part of the yardwork, yes? *shrugs* If there's one thing I hate about daylight savings is that it tries to make me into a morning person. I'd rather have it not be dark at 6pm vs not be dark at 6am, thank you very much. Ah well. I did have yummy food today, and Whole Foods has seriously expanded their gluten free noms - they had samples of carrot cake, which I'm not buying since I want to try and make it myself; but they also had sacher torts and chocolate raspberry cake and quite a few other things I didn't look at, as they were all $30 or more and if I'd perused too long I would have bought something. :) |

Hmm, to drive up to New England to visit a friend this month while I still have the chance. Or not.... Depends on if I have other friends up there able to visit with too. Decisions, decisions. |

okay, I think it's been long enough
I'm posting a link to the article [ETA: okay, a link to the first part of the article - I thought I had the full one bookmarked, but apparently not.] about the little quiz on my last post, and an answer - but no peaking, if you haven't answered! The question was this: Jack is looking at Anne, but Anne is looking at George. Jack is married, but George is not. Is a married person looking at an unmarried person? ( The answer: ) |

Lone Star Shindig Dec. 4th-6th A Weekend at Southdown Abbey Come visit Austin, Texas, December 4th-6th, 2009 as it is transformed into Southdown Abbey on Persephone from the Firefly and Serenity ‘Verse. Join us as we celebrate Shepherd Book’s journey before becoming a crew member on Serenity. We’ll start with an Abbey Fashion Show, showcasing Asian-inspired designs, while offering Sereniteas’ blended teas, as well as homemade hors d’oeuvres. We’ll have a costume picnic on the Abbey grounds and then a dance in the Fellowship Hall with music by The Bedlam Bards and food made primarily from produce grown at the Abbey! We’ll end this shiny shindig with Serenity on the Big Screen at our local Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek. The best part – all proceeds from this event will go to support The Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center of which Ron Glass, our Shepherd Book, is a Board Member. Want to spend a weekend at Southdown Abbey? Tickets are $25, get them now. Space is extremely limited for this event, so don’t miss out! For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit www.lonestarshindig.com |

Bells and Cups...
It's that time of year again, yep... Breeder's Cup - and this time Zenyata's going to run against all the boys. Hopefully she'll kick their butts (not literally, but...) Also Carolina are playing Duke at football. Tied right now, but you know how that kind of goes. I think this is where I'm supposed to give a big shout of: "TAR!" Current Mood: drained |
